Commissioning a
work gives you the opportunity to own and enjoy a unique art image of your
special bird and hunting partner. Commissioned work can also make a very
special gift or fundraising piece that someone can enjoy for many years to
come. Once you have a commission done you may also have prints or custom
note cards printed with your drawing on them.
All original works are done
in graphite on Strathmore 80lb acid free 50% recycled paper. Upon completion
pictures are coated with a non-yellowing protective coating to prevent
smearing or damage. Framing your portrait under glass with acid free matting
will help add to its longevity.
Pricing
I have established
some basic prices, which are listed below. Base pricing is based on a single
stand-alone subject with no background. Base prices are as follows…
9”x11.5” Head Study - $150.00
9”x11.5” Full Body - $200.00
More complex works are available upon request, and
will be priced on an individual basis. These would include backgrounds,
multiple subjects, collages, and larger drawing sizes.
Getting Started
Contact me so we
can discuss the specifics of your particular piece. Once we have established
what you are looking for, I will need a good quality photo of the subject,
preferably in a digital format. This allows me to incorporate more detail
into a work and portray the truest essence of the subject. I try to only
draw what I can see. This insures that you receive a portrait of your
bird and not some generic picture of a hawk. If I feel the photos provided
are not suitable, I will contact you so we can find the right photos to
create the best image possible. Any resource material you send me will be
returned to you with the final drawing. If the photographs you provide
happen to be copyrighted, you will also need to provide written permission
to use them signed by the photographer.
The Process
Please note that
my drawings are not intended to be a photocopy but are created as an
artistic interpretation of the photos provided. Once I have completed the
drawing I will send an email proof copy for your review and comment. This
allows you the opportunity to make sure you are getting a product which you are
happy with.
I do not require a
deposit, however once you approve the proof drawing, full payment, including
shipping & handling must be received before the final work is shipped to
you. I do, however, guarantee satisfaction. If, for any reason, you are
not 100% satisfied, you may return the undamaged drawing within 30
days for a complete refund of your purchase price, less shipping &
handling. In such an event, I retain the right of ownership and can display
and/or sell the work as I see fit. I hold copyright for all works and may
use them for advertising and products. Copyrighted works cannot be
reproduced without my written permission.
Please allow 4 to
6 weeks for completion of your portrait from the time I receive and accept
your photos. The time to completion may vary also depending on the
complexity of your portrait and the number of commissions on which I am
currently working. If you have a special date in mind, please let me know
and I will do my best to accommodate your time requirements.
All prices
quoted are in US Dollars and do not include shipping and handling or 6%
Michigan State Sales Tax (if applicable). All drawings will be shipped
within the continental United States via UPS standard ground transportation
unless requested otherwise. Delivery from shipping date will vary from one
to ten business days depending you your distance from Michigan. Shipping
charges are determined by weight, size and territory and range from $10 up.
Overseas and expedited delivery can be arranged for an additional charge.
